Defensive Handgun
MCOLES Certified. Counts as law enforcement training credit.
Course is Designed to educate the student about best firearms for defense and how to use them efficiently in the context of a defensive scenario, based on imminent threat with the potential for a lethal threat at or beyond two arm’s length.
Course covers:
Training philosophy -Safety , comfort , Competency
Effective VS efficient
Proper choice of a defensive handgun R.E.A.P. method
Drawing from a holster
Balance of speed and precision drills
Understanding the skill development cycle
You will need:
Pistol that you are comfortable with and have a firm understanding of the safe handling of said firearm.
300 rounds of ammo for said firearm.
A holster you are comfortable using ( NO SERPA, cross draw (shoulder), or small of back holsters) we
suggest a hip side holster.
3 magazines Minimum
A way to carry said magazines ( pockets or mag holders)
Eye and ear protection
Further suggestions
Appropriate clothing for the weather and environment we will be training in.
Sunscreen or insect repellent ( if training out doors)
Lunch snacks and a drink to help you get thru an 8 hr day of training
